Former art director at Gourmet Traveller magazine, Anna Vu first began her best-known art project, Good Food Crap Drawing, in New York in 2011. “I wanted to document and sort of review the food I was eating without wanting to make another food blog with crap photos and bad writing,” she says. Her chosen tools are Faber Castell connector pens and a Micron 0.4 mm felt-tip, and she shuns preparatory sketches in favour of a more immediate, one-take approach. “I just eat the food. And if I think it’s good, I draw it.” With Good Wine Crap Drawing Anna has now expanded her crap drawing empire to include even crappier drawings of her favourite wines. She is currently in Paris, deciding what to eat and drink next.
